Fitting Basin Vanity Unit

Hi
I have space of 950mm to fit a 900mm wash basin vanity unit in my bathroom, as in photo below. There will be gap of 25mm either side of the unit, wouldn't look good.

What's the best way to hide the gap?

The surround of unit will be tiled. I thought to put 2 plywood timber panels of 25mm each on both sides and then tile (horizontally and vertically) , is this workable?

What about adding some extra plasterboard each side to make the gap thinner.

Do you mean all the way up to the ceiling? If so , I can do on one wall, the other wall is too wide and won't look good if I don't do the whole wall.

Err, yes sorry just to the one side, from floor to ceiling.

Fit to right and use infill panel to left .

I did consider mfc panels but don't think will look good plus they are not water proof and splashes will damage it.

How about 50mm plywood insert between wall and unit on one side and then tile it?

Or am I better off going for 800mm and tile all round before fitting the unit?
