Hi,

I realise this may be a stupid question, so forgive my ignorance!

I need to fit a new spotlight fitting in my kitchen...the current fitting trips the system every time it's switched on.

For ease of fitting I have chosen the same style as the current fitting, but have noticed the wiring for the new fitting has only space for the Neutral and Live wires on the terminal box with it being a double insulated fitting.

The old fitting is wired with Live, Neutral and Earth so what do I do with the earth wire to keep the fitting safe?

I hope someone can help, thanks in advance..

Terminate the earth in a connector block and push it into the fitting, somewhere out of the way.

Thanks for that, much appreciated. I thought that might be the case but was confused when there wasn't a spare block for the earth supplied with the fitting.
