Just encountered a copper trap and waste pipe on a pair of basins that are gurgling. I want to put a couple of hepvo anti-siphon valves on, however, the copper seems to be 28mm and won't fit the 32mm valve fitting. I have never come across this before and wondered if anyone knows where I might get suitable reducers (local plumbers merchants closed) and I doubt B&Q going to be much help!

McAlpine Compression fitings seem to fit normal copper waste if you turn far enough, though sometimes you have to cut the inner tube out. If someone's used 28mm copper plumbing pipe though, that's wrong. You could put a 35 fitting to 28 reducer on it perhaps.

In the good old days Conex made copper traps in 28mm.
Gawd knows why.
