Hello , wondering if I can get some advice Pls
Want to fit an intermediate switch upstairs Landing so I can fit a switch at the end of the Landing also. At present there is two way switching but switches are at the bottom of the stairs and the top. I want to add another switch outside bedroom at end of landing. I've run a 1mm 3 core and Earth from the new 2 way switch Position to the 2 way switch at the top of the stairs and have an Intermediate switch to replace 2 way at the top of stairs. I am a bit baffled by what I found when I opened the switch to replace it though. There's 2 cables coming in ( 2&E and 3&E) in old colours. The house was built approx 1992. I'm guessing the the 2&E goes to the lights and the 3&E to the down stairs switch. What's baffling me is that the Red from 3&E is in connector block with the Black from 2&E. The Lights have worked since house was built so I guess it must be correct. Its thrown me a bit though as I thought I had the wiring for the Intermediate switch sussed but think I'd better get a second opinion on my wiring Plan ( Attached). Also, the new position for the 2 way Switch will be in a Plastic Back Bow so is it usually ok to leave the Earth / CPC in a connector Block as no earth on switch plate ??

If the plastic switch box is surface-mounted, it may well have an earth terminal.

If it is a dry-lining box or doesn't have a terminal, yes, by all means use a Wago connector or a chock block.
