Hello,
Can anyone tell me if fitting these valves to each tap supply in the house is prudent?
I have reservations with their tendency to leak a bit/fair bit when operated.

also, do gate valves have a tendency to seize up in time?

Isolator valves are an absolute boon when servicing any tap etc.....fit them, use quality ones and pat yourself on the back later.
The red top gate valves belong to the age of fred Dibnah Esq - fit 1/4 turn lever ball valves instead!
John :)

Service valves have a tendency to leak? Not my experience!
For what they cost, fitting them every tap & water outlet is a no brainer; when/if something goes wrong or you need to install new sanitary ware, they are an absolute blessing.

As much as I love Fred, ¼ turn lever valves are far & away better than gate valves; fit them everywhere you need to isolate mains flow.
