Fitting noggin in wall for fixing pedestal basin to

What height would people place a noggin in the wall to enable them to fit a pedestal basin to? Is it usually 820mm to the top of the basin?

Doesn't the pedestal sort of dictate the basin's height?

Or am I missing something?

With a 150mm wide noggin/dwang at 760mm on centre from FF, that'll normally catch most wash basin fixings.....
