Fitting Oak floor on first floor

I am looking at fitting 18mm thick solid oak floorboards in the same direction as existing 18mm thick plywood floorboards.

What material & thickness boards should I put on top of the existing floor?

Also will putting a layer of Duralay Duratex under the boards help with soundproofing or be a waste?

or would Cushion Acoustic Gold Underlay be better than the Duratex?
