Fitting on top of hotwater cylinder stuck

Am I the only one who thinks that photo is of a cylinder with a 1" female boss fitted with a 1" x 3/4" brass reducing bush ?

If that is the case then I would seek to use a hex socket or ring spanner to remove it after blowlamp heating.

But I would not risk using a 12 sided socket or ring spanner for fear of spoiling the shape.

Most plumbers would use their Stilsons though.

I have to say that if no proper tools then I might risk using Stilsons too!

Agile i too see it as a standard bush in top of cylinder it is not braised at all correct tools will get it out or worst case scenario hacksaw blade into hole and cut several grooves into being careful not to damage thread in cylinder too much

Thanks for comments. Before I ordered a new flange I had one last go, being liberal with the blowtorch and the spanner and the fitting came off, so gas and agile, you were right!
thanks

I am surprised that so many others did not notice that!

Guess your eyes go after 45 years as a gasman ;)
