Fitting outdoor plug help needed

Is there a way to check if ring or final conecting etc by checking how many wires etc in rear of socket ?

Not simply. It needs testing and examiningh first. Two cables in the back of a socket may indicate it is a ring final, or it could mean that it is a socket in the middle of a radial circuit, or it could mean that it is a spur already with another (not allowed) spur off it.
There are other variations.

It is OK to connect an additional socket to some of these but definately not to some of the others.

I know but he still repeated the mistake.
By he repeated i take it you mean me as i said you already said  however if not helping dont bother with sarcky comments, appreciate any help but not people trying to funny.

Nothing sarky. I pointed out your mistake. You acknowledged it, but then went and made the same mistake again. So I pointed it out again, hoping it would be remembered this time.

Thats true like i say might get someout out to fit the plug (y)

Unless i will be able to tell from looking at the socket behind washer were it is in the circuit

Also, your egregious spelling mistakes go on and on.

Given the tools available these days to assist people with spelling problems, your failure to use them betokens a careless attitude, at odds with the necessary interest in taking care to do a good job with electrical work.

I am just a bad speller thats all and i rushing as typing on phone, i am a heavy vehicle mechanic and work with vehicle electrics daily and i assure you i am not carelss just a bad speller thats all, i think its best to get someone out to do this due to not knowing if i can spur off that socket. I only came her for some advice as most forums are very helpful and most people have been ln here. Wasnt looking for insults or argument

Once again, it is not a plug, it is a socket.

And what's to stop him putting a plug on the end of a piece of wire, and then plugging it into a socket till he gets an electrician out.

Maybe this was a Fruadian slip with a greater intention.

Sorry Dean, you'll always find those who's free advice comes at a price.

thanks doggit I am member of a lot of forums for different interests and always get them, but seriously I am great at general DIY and I am very careful just a terrible speller that's all. and yes when I said plug the 3rd time I was just being sarcastic myself as getting comments like spelling is bad and socket not plug (what I know just typed plug by mistake 1st time) isn't helpful at all. most people have been very helpful and I have contemplated fitting a plug and just plugging it into existing socket as would be easier just bit of perfectionist and would prefer it done properly but would be easier.

thanks again
Dean

Don't take the socket back, I have the same one and it's a decent outdoor socket.

But don't you see?

You know that you are a bad speller, and you do absolutely nothing to help with that. Would people accept you screwing up in your day job because you were rushing, and knowingly making mistakes?

The way you write your posts is as if you cannot care less whether you do a good job with them or not, so don't be surprised if others worry that that attitude to getting things right applies to everything you do.

spelling is very important at work.... If you're a sub editor or secretary. Admittedly Back in my granddad's day you had to turn up on time wearing the correct clothes and have the right accent.

Nowadays we've got other ways of judging people.
