Those are what i use but anything suitable length will do so use what you wish. If you prefer to go into the mortar use more of them.

No need to countersink they will pull themselves in.

ok will just use them screws u suggested as read good reviews and i already have 6 from the guttering i removed, do u fit into the pointing or brickwork ? i tryed using a bit driver last time and probly too fast so will just use a socket next time, i will drill the posts then hold up to wall and mark holes then drill into wall, how deep into wall should they be at a minimum as will have to go all the way through post aswel
