Fitting to a soil pipe boss

Sorry, this might be a bit of a 'doh' question.

I want to fit a sink waste into a spare boss on my toilet soil pipe.

The boss sits on the top face of the pipe and is, as manufactured, I.e. Sealed and not broken through. I have bought a rubber 32mm boss adaptor but what is the best way of breaking through the existing pipe? Screwdriver and hammer, or hole saw, or some other smart way?
