hello all,
I am going to be taking out a standard bath next week and replacing it with victorian cast bath.
The water feeds for existing bath will need bringing over into the centre to fit onto the new bath, which will be no problem.
What i was wandering was, the waste pipe?
will the existing pipework need moving over, or vice a versa?
Is there a extra big flexible waste system you can buy?
what is the usual for an installation of this sort?

depends if the bath is exposed or boxed in, normally this type of bath demands a chrome or nickel waste system.

its actually going to be enclosed between the back wall and side wall, pretty much taking the place of the other standard bath

You certainly can get long flexy wastes very easily, even joining them together if necessary. You're likely to get low spots though which can build up hair etc - why not use the normal plastic waste stuff?
You have a choice of using the solvent weldable system, pushfit (nb pipe and size slightly different) or all compression fittings.

The last is frowned upon slightly but if there's a blockage at some point you'll be glad you used it.

ye thats what i was thinking chris, nothing will be seen, so long as the bugger doesnt leek thatl do for me

I dont know who frowns on compression waste.

Certainly I dont as they are totally flexible for cleaning or modifications.

I suspect its just that they are more expensive so are never used by the mean plumbers!

I use them for converting Chrome pipe etc to plastic or the other way round.
