My son has an unvented hot water system installed in his new build house.
We know very little about it.
We want to fit a water softener immediately after the cold tap in the kitchen, but not sure how to isolate the upstairs cylinder to allow the softener to be plumbed in series with the mains inlet feed.
If we turn off the mains stopcock and then open all taps, will this stop any water loss whilst plumbing in the necessary pipework and valves? If not, what other procedure should be followed.
Thanking anyone for simple opinion or do I need a registered plumber. I have installed softeners in Vented system without ant problem.
