Hi. Are the any fixes for a swollen kitchen worktop? It's very close to the sink, as you can see from the photos, so keeping further water out is going to be very difficult. Could I cut out some of the core, apply sealant and clamp it down?

Looks beyond help, replace, any fix will fail quickly.
When particle board has swollen, no amount of fix-its will remedy the situation. Save the heartache and replace the worktop.
Thought as much. My guess is it's a Howdens worktop because the kitchen appliances are from there. It was fitted about 6 or 7 years ago. Long before I moved in. I doubt they'll still be making it, so might have to replace the whole lot.
The return worktop that has blown looks like it was butted directly to the sink run worktop, "without removing the front edge strip"
If you go for Square edge worktops again, find a kitchen fitter that can either do a 3mm/5mm or 10mm worktop joint.
Leaving the edging on is a complete bodge, ripping the edging off and doing butt joint is lazy, you need someone with a jig and a router who has pride in their work.

@chirpychippy well spotted!
I've probably done up to a 1000 worktop joints in all my years, i don't like the "Butt Joint" on Square edge tops, why?
If you heat up the faced edge and peel it off you are left with a load of adhesive on the chipboard, which imo stops the joint being pulled tight together, I tried it once, never again.
The OP's worktop joint is awful.
Thanks for the feedback. I can't afford to replace it just now, so I've had to bodge it more than the fitter. I'll make sure I get someone who knows what they are doing though, when I get round to replacing it.
