Fix mortar of brick wall

Hi all,

I'm just a regular DIY-er with no experience in mortar, cement, or concrete work. I've noticed that my garden wall has some gaps between the bricks. What would be the simplest way to fix this? And what tools or products should I buy for the job?

That’s an expansion gap , you need brick sealant .

Ideally you want to cut the bits of mortar out and you'll want a backing strip so you don't have too great a depth of silicone. Proper foam available but rolled up newspaper will do.
