Hi all

Selling up within 12 months (hopefully sooner rather than later).
Wall and a couple of house bricks got damaged in the previous bad winter and have subsequently been water-damaged too. Worse on neighbour's side.
Had one guy look who said to just replace house bricks and do a bit of pointing and leave the wall.

Any suggestions ?

Cheers

Cut out bricks
I covered all surrounding bricks and new bricks with duck tape.
Fitted new bricks and use a few stones to wedge.
Pointed up.
Took about 2 hours.
Left to set for 2 hours.
Removed duck tape
Easy job tbh.

I'd replace bricks. Maybe a days work and worth the effort if selling

Leave it. New work will raise more suspicion than leaving it.

Only deal with long cracking, and even then you will need a person that is able to blend in the new work to make it look 50 years old - and that is different to someone who is crap and just smudges mortar all over the place.

What about the linear splits down two bricks in line with the mortar on the pic?
