fixing 4 x 4 timber to steel lintel

whats the best way of fixing a 4 by 4 piece wood to steel lintel, more cosmetic than strength needed, can you get large self tappers, and if so where?

I just used bolts on the steel I had. Drill appropriate sized hole and bolted it through. No probs.

you can buy self-drilling tec screws specifically for fixing into steel.

4" is quite a lot to deal with, unless you can maybe fix through the steel into the wood, as opposed to going all the way through the wood into the steel.

4" x 4"???? That should be holding up your garden fence not swinging from a lintel
