Hi.

I've decided to replace my front door's old concrete step with a new sandstone one. But could anybody please tell me how to bed the step onto the course of bricks. Do I just use mortar? Do I need to add anything to the mortar ie pva? Or should I be using something stronger to bed it?

Thanks for any help.

Mortar will be fine. If it overhangs the riser significantly then adding a drop of SBR will help adhesion. pva is water soluable and useless outdoors.

If the step is a significant weight in itself then probably no need.
