Fixing sandstone cladding to garden steps

I’m building some garden steps using concrete blocks with sandstone pavers for treads. To stick the pavers used as treads down I’m using an SBR enhanced mortar, and maybe a bond bridge.

I’m also attaching some sandstone pavers to the riser of each step, a bit like a fascia, what I’m wondering is how to attach these. Seems awkward to use a mortar for the job, as it would be applied vertically and would end up being quite a thick joint. Would it be possible to use something like OB1, as it’s basically just for aesthetics?

Thanks

Assuming ob1 is one of those sticks all type polymer adhesive then it would be fine as long as the surfaces are sound, those seem like magic, I used it extensively on our roof to good effect holding cut tiles in place
