Fixing hanging basket bracket

Looking to fix a bracket like this (35cm basket):

just to a brick 90's wall - can anyone advise what screws size, raw plug size and drill bit size i need?


thinking these:

The fixings you suggest will carry half a garden!! Stick with 7mm drill and brown plugs but 2" x 8 screws will be plenty big enough and easier to drive.

I'd go for a black japanned round headed screw though - they tend to look better with these brackets

Thanks Woody - your right the black screws look better - but as screwfix dont stock will put up with quicksilvers as I want to get them up.
Hopfully the hanging basket display will detract from the difference in fixing colour!

if not then a small dab of paint might be required!

The problem I find with the black japanned screws they tend to rust, could be due the screwdriver chipped the paint on the screws(?) Have used black plasterboard screws on external job! Black hammerite with the cotton buds if you got any in the shed
