I'm fitting a new wooden garden gate, 6x3' heavy ( I can just about lift it!) with 3x2" bracing.
I'm using hook and band hinges (the hooks are already leaded into the wall). Is 18" the correct length?
Will screws be sufficient or should I be using coach bolts , maybe "screw bolts" Any advice?
Thanks

I'm sure 18" hinges will do. Usually the band part of the hinge will take 3 or 4 screws, and 1 coach bolt.

Thanks, does the bolt have to go through the gate or could I use a "screw bolt" ?
