In relation to another post about building a raised floor in my bathroom, just got round to starting my project, but was just wondering if i build a raised floor for my shower with new "joists". Whats the best way to secure this to the current floor, floorboards are in good condition, but i wondered if any had any experience about wether its better to take up the floorboards and fix the new "joists" to the originals. And if so how?

Or should i just fix the outside "joists" to the perimeter walls then fix the rest of the floor to these?
