I've read lots of articles about this and in they generally say screw it to the floor if you can. IN addition one said to lay it on a bed of adhesive such as GripFill. Is this dvisable and if so does it matter whether it's the solbenmt based or non-solvent based type?

Another question regarding pipe compound can you use both ptfe and white compound and is there a difference between white compound (boss white) and evostick plumbers mate?

Thanks

Jeet

you can fit the pan on a fine line of silicone which will stick it to the floor and allow some flexibility
boss white is a compound for sealing water pipe fittings, ( not sure if you are still meant to use it, we use boss blue, for potable (drinking)) so i suppose white will be ok for non-drinking water!!
plumbers mait is a putty like substance for sealing soil pipe joints etc it stays flexible so won't crack unlike putty so boss white or plumbers mait is dependant on what you are sealing.

the pan has two holes in the base for screwing to the floor, use them
gripfill how you ever going to move it in the future.

seco, after your earlier posts you will need to be careful in case some people liken you to something with one hole

just chill out and stop being so aggresive with your posts, you obviously know your stuff like most of us, but a lot of people post for some guidance to ensure they get things right and don't want to be spoken down to

You gave two excellent observations on fixing the pan to the floor.

In what way was my comment ambiguous? :?

Kirkgas thanks for the advice amd explanation. I wanted to know about the pipe compound as I was going to use it for connecting the water supply to the cistern and to the basin. I guess I'll stick to ptfe tape and this 'boss blue' stuff.

Seco I see your point about moving it so will user normal sanitary silicone instead, as well as screws.

Thanks for the help guys.

You don't need PTFE or any of that paste muck when connecting to the cistern fill valve. The 'tap connector' connection just needs a fibre (or nylon) washer to make the seal.
