Fixings for use after D&D

Hi all

I am D&D the walls in my kitchen after removing all the old plaster.

What would you guys recommend as the best fixings for using to hang the kitchen cabinets with, bearing in mind the gap between the plasterboard and wall? or is there some other method i should use?

I was hoping it would be a simple answer, i take it you can also use standard wallplugs and just knock them through the gap into the brick?
