Flags to be Replaced

No the far right extremists are a bit extreme but it isn’t those ones putting the flags up
Some have questioned the true motives of the Raise the Colours campaign after it transpired that several far-right activists and organisations, including Britain First and senior far-right activist Tommy Robinson, had supported and promoted the campaign.

It isn’t them that has organised the flags, Tommy Robinson would support flying our flag as would any decent folks too.

I said earlier

HWM said they were, but I didn't recall seeing any.
Seeing as the anti-foreigner movement didn't kick off till August last year, I don't see how he could.

According to a YouGov opinion poll conducted between 3 and 16 October 2025, "Both white and ethnic minority adults tend to see this summer’s lamppost flag raisings as primarily about spreading an anti-migrant or anti-ethnic minority message, rather than a display of patriotism".

Which council areas which you cover are supporting these new plastic flags. How big are the plastic ones. Have you got a photo.
Nope we have just been told to leave the flags alone as we will be replacing them with what we deem as safe and follows our street furniture regulations

Where do those regulations come from. I have read that it is down to local councils to decide what to do. In your area there is Hull Council and East Yorkshire Council and also a combined authority. I was wondering which of these has the power to make these decisions.

Also each council has the right to decide what they do with their allocated funds. Some councils have more money available than others. We would charge each council in the same way that we do for other street furniture repairs and replacements.

There are strict regulations on what can be placed on street lighting. Once again too many to list as there are countless pole sizes lighting lux levels and road traffic. The councils can apply to parliament to any changes if we do not agree to them.
