Flaking paint

Hi,

I have taken off a border on a painted room, only for it to have taken a strip of paint off at the same time, right down to the bare plaster.

I have tried a mist coat and then painting, however there is still a shadow where the ledge of paint meets the bare plaster area, is there anything I can do other than skimming?

You can either sand the paint to feather, or put some filler in and sand it flush. I'd opt for the latter.
