There's a wobbly bit and a straight bit. They join at loops bent in the wires to form a tall T. The top of the T is about 5cm long, and the loops about 1 cm diameter.
So you can fold thewobbly bit against the long bit to push it through the hole, and when you pull it back you twist the long bit about until the cross bit goeas across, behind the fitting, or lays down against it to come through the hole.
Daft thing about the washer is that it is ( or used to be, at least) only rated to 55º.
I use a smear of LS-X on it.
Does anyone know where i can get a new flange with wobbly bit - today?
The owners won't have hot water till tuesday otherwise. Maybe someone can recommend a temporary fix to last the weekend/bankholiday?? Ta
The top 5cm across part of the T lays against the long bit. You hold the bottom end of the long bit of the T. When you pull the bit you're holding back towards you , you want the top bit to flop sideways to go behind the fitting. ok?
