flashing materials

please help
I have had the lead flashing stolen off my (pitched to the house) garage roof.
Builders have advised aluminium or felt as alternatives to avoid the risk of the lead being stolen again.

Are these any good? If so which is best?

I`d agree...and I love leadwork..but there are felts now that King Kong couldn`t tear

thanks for the prompt replies, and advice. I will go with felt - not as nice as lead but may deter the thieves

I use ubiflex,better than lead,and its not attractive to ******!
