Flat Battery - Connection Problem

Hi,

We have a DS3 2015, but we've been told that it has been fitted with the incorrect Battery.

After a few weeks of non use the battery has gone flat and whilst trying to charge the battery it doesn't appear to be holding any charge.

I'm unsure whether the Positive (connected to a bolt where there is a "+" sign) and Negative leads are connected to the correct position on the battery.

The picture shows where we have connected them, but not sure if the positive needs to be attached to the "Red" cable?

Any help is much appreciated.

Buy a Bluetooth battery monitor and put the app on phone
You can monitor if there is a battery draw and charge problem 24/7
Cheap enough starting at £16

You can buy batteries with built in monitor now.

I can't see everything but get a garage to look at it

You have the leads round the wrong way. Wrong battery or not, it shouldn’t go flat after a few weeks of non use unless something is left on or it’s knackered.

Scrub that. After a closer look, you seem to have both charger wires connected to the positive. The black lead needs to go to the negative terminal or anywhere on the car that is earthed.
