flickering lights

all the lights in my house flicker then go out, apart from the kitchen light, this came on suddenly, there has been no diy work done lately, any ideas

Get somebody in sooner rather than later.........possible lose connection/fire hazard somewhere.

Look at all your pendent drops (in the actual ceiling rose part). No doubt you will find a cable which is loose or has snapped off.

Give the cables a good 'tug' at the terminals to ensure they are truley in.

If you have 3036 re-wireable fuses, also check the fuse wire - have seen some very poorly re-wired fuses where the wire has snapped as the terminal was done up.
