Flickering neons

I have a couple of 6 way extension lead all with low wattage things plugged into them but a couple of them have a neon power light which flicker badly, is this just a faulty bulb and hence nothing to worry about?

Yep, sounds like the neons have had it.

presuming you mean neon indicator lamps, some flicker but also check that you dont have loose connections somewhere.

a faulty neon is to be avoided.

this is because their function is to show the circuit is live. If the neon is out people expect the circuit to be dead. However if the neon has failed this is misleading.
