Hi,
I need to replace the float valve in my cold water tank, as it is regularily overflowing. the existing valve is the BS1212 Part 1 type. Should I replace this with the same or a Part 2? I'm a bit confused because both types are still available.

Thanks!

Was curious to know what the difference was between Part 1 and Part 2, thus looked it up. You could use either but I would replace with Part 1.

 As Bahco says .a part 2 ..but you can leave the body of the valve through the cistern wall and just fit the new bit.take the valve apart before you fit it and have a butchers ;)
