Hi All,

I have searched and searched, and not really found a definite answer.

My brother is having an extension built with a concrete floor and wants to lay some engineered Oak over the top using the floating method.

Now I know you have to wait for the concrete to dry out if you are glueing the floor to the concrete, but if floated using an underlay with built in DPM, do you still have to wait? and if so, how long?

Thanks

Matt

Ideally you should allow 4 weeks per inch of depth of new concrete above the built in DPM.

How long you wait shorter than that timescale without moisture testing the floor is down to how lucky you are feeling!
