Located a fused spur above a suspended ceiling today. It is fed via double socket from dado trunking and the cable is contained in 20mm pvc conduit clipped to the stud wall. The 'surface' mounted back box is connected to the pipe by an adaptor as one would expect. However, the box, with fcu, is not mounted/fixed to anything, ie, it is secured by the adaptor only. The pipe is well secured to the wall and the box is unlikely to come into contact with anything. Is this against the regs/bad practice or ok?

thanks as usual...

Wiring systems shall be selected and erected so as to minimize mechanical damage eg damage due to impact, abrasion, penetration, compression or tension, during installation, use and maintenance.

This one will cover not fixing things securely, along with a multitude of others.
