hi , went away on holiday for 2 weeks , came back and bathroom floor was wet and my small hall carpet is wet .

the celing had a bulge in until (not huge) I put a few holes (went through artex no bother) and a filled a bucket .
I switched all water off and cleaned up the bathroom.

around the tiled walls in bathroom you can see black water was running down it.

I went up.into my floored loft and the carpet up there is soaking .
I checked around for leaks but will need further investigation , I have a 50galon tub up there for water , I checked around that and all seems fine .

I will go back up into loftand rip up carpets and flooring , and chuck out the loft insulation.

will I need to pull the ceiling down and Renew it?

in 2 other rooms I can see black marks on covin where water might have been .

will a dehumidifier help dry things ?

do you think the plasterboard behind tiles will dry on if wet , I don't know if it's spread onto other parts of the house ceiling.
