The government flood resilient advice is to install plastic kitchen units rather than MDF or wooden ones. However, an extensive internet search has failed to find any such product. Can anyone tell me who makes plastic kitchen units, please?

I've seen kitchen units with solid acrylic doors, but never carcasses. I can't see such a thing being feasible, or even possible.

Try looking for specialist kitchen fitter forums and asking there, and try asking the Govt dept who gave out that advice.

Be advised that in California they don't have a ground floor. The floor that we in the UK call the "ground floor" the American's refer to as the "first floor"

So they can raise their ground floors above ground level and flood levels quite easily.

Changing the name of the ground-level storey of a building does not make it any easier or cheaper to raise the building on stilts.
