Hi Guys,
Posting this here as thought better to link all the questions up in one post

We got hit with a torrential downpour last week, 3 inches in 30 minutes.

Anyway the area in blue was full of water, which got into our garage as the water could not run away fast enough due to the small holes in the
drain cover (In Red), which I could not remove at the time and still cant as the screws are rusted on tight.

I would like to increase the water run off into the drain, thinking about drilling holes into the drain cover, its made of plastic, or maybe remove and place a grill over the drain?

Also would like to put something in place to block the water getting into the garage ie. raise the plinth, maybe put a piece of wood across and
seal it?

Any suggestions on what to do will be appreciated.

Thanks for reading my post

PS I am dyslexic so if I don't get it and its really obvious, that's why

Discard drain cover and fit mesh, if the waters pooling and it abuts garden then it's out of level and should be dug up and replaced with a slight fall to the garden.

Do you mean a wire mesh? and sorry to be a pain but could you post a picture of what you mean, that would be really helpful.

Reason I'm asking for a picture is I've googled wire mesh drain covers and I'm overloaded / overwhelmed by the information, it's a problem dyslexics get when there is too much information.

As to the flooding, we're never had this problem before, that area flooding was down to so much water coming down so quickly

Thanks :-)

Hi Guys,
Drilled small holes in existing cover..

There's been no heavy downpours like the one that caused the flooding, will update if works or not

Nice, needs more holes & a little bit bigger.

Add as many as you can.

Hi Guys,
Had a big downpour today, usual spots in the garden flooded, the modifications to the drain cover worked a treat, no water build up at all in the path area :-)
