Have been reading up, special thanks to Gcol and his posts, but still have a few questions.

If the floor is to be done in a small gutted out bathroom, IIRC it is best to remove the floorboards and lay a sheet of marine ply, what happens with the pipework, does the plumber fit them first, then the board fitted and tiled and then the plumber returns to fit the suite after the floor tiled.
Would they test for leaks first.

Same with the shower, does the plumber fit the pipes in the wall and then return to second fix after the wall tiled.

Also if the tiled floor then becomes higher than the landing, the door opens outwards. to a carpeted area, what is normal practise to do there regading levels and neatness.

Thanks

My pleasure but thanks for saying.
Any pipework needs to be sorted and blanked off before tiling. Protruding pipes will need to be tiled around, then once finished, the plumber will need to come back to fit the bathroom suite.

You can just use a quadrant piece of timber to blend the different levels together.
