Floor screed over UFH

Having underfloor heating (the piped type, not electric) installed in the kitchen.

Is there anything I need to consider for a screed.

Pipes are clipped to the Kingspan (or similar). I'm told we need at least 70mm screed.

I've got the SikaCim fibres to go in the mix. Should I use a steel reinforcement? Some say chicken wire is strong enough - is that correct, or should I use the heavy 6mm grid that usually goes into concrete?

The floor is approx 6m x 3m.

I don't know what you call chicken-wire, but 3 mm is strong enough.

Depending on your circuit-run and how tight the curves are, there is a good chance of the piping tearing the staples out of the insulation . In my opinion better to wire the pipe LOOSELY to the mesh and raise the mesh about 10 mm off the insulation so that the screed can get in underneath.

This method saves you the cost of fibres and staples and is completely adequate.
