Hi, I am going to have a go at my first floor screed next weekend after I have been and bought a mixer.
Is there a formula for working out materials?
I will order a jumbo bag of sharp sand but I need to know roughly how many bags of cement I will need.
Also will a retarder help or not?
The room size is 3.0m x 2.2m with a depth of about 75mm.
Thanks.

PS. Anyone used one of the belle mini mixers from screwfix?

belle mini mixers are excellent value for money, you should get plenty of mileage from it. :)

My Belle mixer has mixed a trillion tonnes of gear and has not missed a beat.
Had a new drum and a couple of drive belts. Also, the gearbox casing was damaged when the mixer fell of the stand so it only holds about half the required amount of oil. this was 5 years ago!

you can not kill 'em.

Thanks for the replies but after ringing around today I think I am gonna buy ready mixed.
I have another room of similar size to do so if I buy 1 meter it should be enough to do the lot, with no mixing involved.
£175 Delivered so it doesn't work out much more than the raw materials plus I don't have to buy the mixer.
1 meter don't sound a lot but I guess I'm gonna hurt on Sunday! :?
