Hi,
I need to lay a screed which will be 100mm thick but in a room measuring 5 by 7 metres. Worse still this will be for under floor heating and so will be on top of foam insulation which will have pipework pinned on top of it.

I assume I will get ready mix delivered and conveyed to the room but any ideas how I should go about laying such a big room screed

Any advice would be much appreciated.

we normally lay a reachable perimeter screed first then fill in.

lay say a 700mm band of screed level around the room perimeter. you could then lay another levelling screed down the centre and then fill in either side, using the center and perimeter screeds as levelling aids.

all you need tool wise is an eight foot straight edge, a four foot level, a poly float, a flooring steel float and a pair of knee pads.
