Hi All, after some advice here, moved into a new house last year and already had to do quite a bit to it and looking at a touch up job to last approx 2/3 years.

I've only ever done tiling on a concrete floor, in my old house, was a concrete floor and the tiles were still fine 20 years later, however this is about a wooden chipboard floor.

Broken grout and loose tiles, on approx half of bathroom floor, others perfect, thought would attempt a 'spot repair' to remove the loose, readhere, and refit, however run into the below.

Took the tiles up, no adhesive on the back of ANY of the loose ones, happy days i though as easier to redo!

However was proving difficult getting the adhesive off the ply, therefore cut the old ply out and plan was to lay down new ply, (only for the areas of the tiles I've taken up), seal with Mapei G Primer, then put down new Mapei Super Flexible Adhesive, then regrout with Mapei Grout.

However, under the old ply there is a screed on the main wooden floor? Any ideas what this is? Is it adhesive from other tiles previously laid or a floor levelling compoud (doubt its that?).

Any advice on best way to proceed? Don't really want the disruption of ripping out all the other tiles as that will be a complete return project as toilet and units will all need to come out and they are past their day and may as well replace all that and the bath..... Was hoping for that kind of expense in a few years time.....
