Going to put down ceramic floor tiles on top of what appears to be a 7/8" thick chipboard floor.I have been told that Bal flexible adhesive is the best thing to use but is a bit pricey.Nothing wrong with that if it's better than the rest ,could anyone confirm this please?

Also would i need to ply the floor first or just put them straight down onto floorboards. These will be down for ages (hopefully) so i could do with some advice to help me get it right .Thanks

bal fast flex is the best and you can tile straight on the floorboards. personally i would overlay with 15mm ply on chipboard and use a two part adhesive. bal fast flex is the best but as you said it is pricey.
