Hi

I'm just about to have a new kitchen installed in what used to be my dining room and the missus wants me to tile the floor, unfortunately its floorboards! I've been told to put down 1/2" marine ply and screw it down every 6"! is this right? as its a suspended floor can i use something under the ply to insulate it?

cheers guys

Wayne

Use 12mm ply. I did my daughter's boarded floor a few years ago using 9mm, screwed every foot, and although the tiles are secure the grouting has needed to be redone.
