I am repairing the floorboards on the landing and have had to replace a section that is 3 boards width. I have purchased the nearest metric equivalent but of course there is a shortfall in height and width. I have some dpc and /or sandpaper to gain the correct height but the gap across the width is 3/4" over a span of 13 3/4".
Do I:
i) Space the boards out such that the gap is spread evenly across the 3 boards.
ii) Cut away the tongue and try to manufacture a 3/4" fillet.
iii) Any other suggestions.
My gut feeling is that the gap should be filled somehow.
TIA
