Hello, I have original quarry tiles(1900's) in my hallway. The tiles had been covered over with bitumen? sheet and carpeted. I would like to put oak wood flooring over the tiles. the tiles don't seem damp. what's the best way to do this?
Remove carpet, check if tiles are level and still fully bonded to the underfloor.
If your wooden floor is suitable to be installed floating - not every solid floor is - install a underlayment that contains a DPM over the tiles and lay floor on to it.
