We have an old boiler, Vaillant Turbomax 242. It seems to be going strong... until last week.
The CH still works, but the hot water fluctuates in the shower (mixer) - hot/cold.
- At the moment, we'll have to run the hot tap in the bathroom first, to get the boiler to kick in, then the shower will hold the temp but only if we keep the hot tap running.
- If we run the tap, let the boiler kick in, shower gets hot, then stop tap, then shower will either fluctuate hot/cold, or just go cold.
The hot taps (kitchen/bathroom) are a bit more consistent, but nowhere near as hot as they used to be.
We have called a heating engineer, they suggested cleaning the showerhead but no change. They said they can come out, as it sounds like it might be the heating plate, just looking st other opinions.
