Do the flue terminal position i the MI`s refer to the actual positon the flue comes out of the wall,or where the position of the plume kit would end up being if fitted?

The plume kit is an optional extra so therefore the termination to M.I. is where the flue comes out the wall.

Yeah but no but yeah, but no.

If you have a flue termination problem eg: too close to a window - in most manufacturer cases the spacings for the actual concentric outlet (eg: air inlet) are reduced if you can site the VTK outlet within MIs.

Therefore on a Buderus (for example) you can halve the standard distances of the normal concentric from most windows, doorways, internal wall corners etc if the fitment of a VTK takes the products of combustion to a point that does otherwise meet the MIs.

On a Vaillant you can get as close as 75mm to window opening if a VTK is used.

So it depends on the manufacturer, who will have a different set of flue MIs for VTK applications.

With plume kit fitted on a worcester bosch boiler the air intake part of the flu has to 150mm from nearest wall, opening window, and plume kit termination point more than 300mm for window etc etc
