Hi all

I think I am in need of some advice. I will be fitting a new combi boiler in the next few weeks, this is replacing the old convential system. The problem I have is, I have started taking the old pipe work out, I.E from the loft and airing cupboard. My question is how do I flush the system properly before fitting the new boiler?

I hope this has made sense and someone can give me some advice.

the best way is to hire a power flushing pump but you need to know what you are doing with it to do it properly. Or the other way is to pop some Sentinel x400 in the system about 3-4 weeks prior to fitting the boiler. Then when you drain the heating majority of the sludge will be flushed out then. Just give it a few flushes after that and see how bad the system is then.

I don't think that is possible. All I have now is the central heating and hot water pipes upstairs, which are linked to down stairs. The problem is there are a few open ended pipes upsairs where the old boiler used to connect to. There is currently no water in the hot water pipes nor the central heating pipes.

I guess the only way to do this, is to make the system sealed again but so I can connect one of those pumps to push water/cleaner through the system.
