flying ants

I live in Bristol. Recently we have some ants with wings (10s of them) in my conservatory usually in the afternoon (4 or 5pm-ish). I am a bit worried could it termites?

Although there is info on the web regarding the differences between flying ants and termites, it is still quite confusing and difficult to tell for sure.

Does anyone have similar experience? Shall I call the council pest control? The problem is the appearance time of these insects is quite random and the pest inspector may not see it when he visits.

This is the time of year when the ants mate and set up new colonies, the best thing is to use a good anti-ant spray.

I have seen them in my garden too. Quite big ants too.
